Book Club

Cost: £25 for 6 weekly 1 hour sessions

Enjoying books as a group is always a great way to spark more interest in reading - as well as sparking ideas among the group.

Each course we read books through as a group - There is no expectation for children to read out loud to the group but students are encourage to read-along out loud with their mic off.

With each chapter we discuss the content and work through worksheets and other activities (more are available to work through in their own time too) work can be emailed back to me or parents can mark themselves.

Homework Club

KS3 and KS4

Body Doubling Session

This session is for young people who are relatively confident in their homework but need ‘body doubling’. This is a term whereby being in the same (virtual) room as people working helps a persons focus and attention on the topic. It is especially useful for young people with ADHD and/or Autism. Although it is expected that they can work through the tasks independently I am on hand all session they can talk to me or send me a message to assist them with their question. These sessions are particularly useful if parents are working later or have younger children to deal with but want to encourage their children to do their homework a little earlier in the day.

For older children its encouraged but there is no expectation to read aloud to the group.

Together we read through an age appropriate text (they will have access to a digital copy of the book for at home too!) We discuss the themes and characters, along with other activities to bring the story alive. With additional worksheets and activities available to continue the work in their own time.

Social Time

Number of Spaces: 20

Cost: FREE to all students including 1-to-1, group and course students. Please reserve your child’s space.

An opportunity for your child to share their favourite toy or an achievement with other children (Show and tell for the technical age!). Spaces are limited and require booking in advance if your child would like to share with the group please include their topic in your booking message - there will be limited opportunities to share but they will be noted and turns taken - logins will be sent out the day before sessions to ensure cyber security.
